AVELLUM partner Vadim Medvedev heads dispute resolution practice

Vadim Medvedev, partner at AVELLUM, has been appointed head of the firm’s dispute resolution practice. Vadim also leads tax practice at AVELLUM.

Vadim Medvedev represents clients in disputes relating to tax and customs, corporate, labor, land, and real estate matters, as well as bad debt recovery proceedings. Vadim advises Ukrainian and international corporations, government agencies, financial institutions, and private clients.

In particular, he represented:world’s leading investment funds holding Mriya Agro Holding notes during insolvency proceedings against Mriya companies in Ukrainian courts; major Ukrainian agricultural holding in a pricing dispute adjudicated by the Supreme Court of Ukraine; Ukrainian subsidiary of JKX Oil & Gas plc while developing litigation strategy for a major tax dispute in the Supreme Court of Ukraine; JACOBS DOUWE EGBERTS Ukraine while challenging actions taken by customs authorities as to calculation of customs value and classification of goods

Vadim is regularly involved in introducing the most effective changes to Ukrainian tax and customs laws, including:draft law on BEPS implementation;amendments on taxation of income of non-resident investors in state securities; draft law On Improving the System of Bringing to Liability for Tax Laws Violations; new concept of suspension of registration of VAT invoices in Ukraine, etc.
